Y'all. This book. THIS BOOK!!! I struggle with weight- I always have, but it's gotten much worse in the past few years and even worse in the last 6 months. I kept restricting intake, increasing exercise, tried every "diet", but NOTHING worked. I doubled down this summer and really really cut back but I gained weight instead!!! I knew something was up when my kid made the comment "When are you going to start eating again?" 😳 I suspected it was because my hormones were all out of wack...and they were! I love this book so much because it addresses the roles cortisol, insulin resistance, estrogen, autoimmune disease, and thyroid hormones play in weight gain and health in general. And before it even goes into all the health/workout advice, there's a good part of the book (maybe over 50%???) that talks about the philosophy behind balancing your life, customizing your plan to work for YOUR hormone mix and issues, living in gratitude/fully engaged, and being your own best friend. It's written by two ladies behind the podcast Sarah & Dr Brooke Show​. I just got it this week, but I can already tell it's shifted the way I think about food and the cues I'm looking for in my body to make sure my hormones are balanced before I even think about diet!!!I know it sounds like I'm being paid to say this or something, but I promise I'm not!!! Honestly I know so many other women out there who struggle not only with weight but with hormone issues too. And the only reason I even knew about it was because a friend posted her review of the book. So I'm hoping to be that friend for a lot of you!!!
